How to use
Congratulations on taking the first steps towards a organised desk setup. Here is a guide, to give you an idea on how to use this bundle. However, please feel free to use our bundle to organise your desk in the way you see fit.
Step 1: Gather Your Cables
Before you start, unplug all your devices and gather all cables. Sort them by type (power cables, charging cords, HDMI cables, etc.) to make the organization process easier.
Step 2: Install the Under-Desk Cable Tray
- Choose a Spot: Select a position underneath your desk where the tray can be easily reached but remains out of sight. The tray is great for storing power strips and extra cable lengths.
- Mount the Tray: Use the screws and brackets provided to attach the tray to the underside of your desk. Make sure it's securely fastened.
- Place Power Strips: Put your power strips or surge protectors inside the tray. This will keep them off the floor and neatly tucked away.
Step 3: Bundle Cables with Cable Sleeves
- Measure and Cut (if needed): Each cable sleeve is 1 meter long. If you need a shorter length, use scissors to cut the sleeve to your desired size.
- Insert Cables: Gather the cables that run in the same direction (e.g., power cables to the under-desk tray) and place them inside the sleeve.
- Close the Sleeve: Wrap the sleeve around the cables and fasten it using the Velcro closure along the edge. Now you have a neat bundle instead of a tangled mess!
Step 4: Use Velcro Straps to Secure Loose Cables
- Bundle Excess Cable Lengths: If some cables are too long, use the reusable Velcro straps to wrap and secure the extra length. Simply wrap the strap around the coiled cable and fasten it with the Velcro.
- Secure Bundles: Use the straps to keep cables neatly bundled before placing them in the under-desk tray or attaching them to other surfaces.
Step 5: Route Cables with Cable Clips/Holders/Clamps
- Stick the Clips: Choose spots along your desk or wall where you want to route cables, then peel off the backing and stick the cable clips in place.
- Insert Cables: Gently press your cables into the clips to hold them in place. These clips prevent cables from sliding around and keep them neatly routed.
Step 6: Guide Cables with Adhesive Cable Mounts
- Place the Mounts: Use the adhesive cable mounts to guide cables along specific paths (e.g., the underside of the desk or along walls). Clean the surface before sticking to ensure a strong hold.
- Insert Cables: Insert your cables into the mounts to secure them. This step is particularly useful for keeping cables off the floor and neatly aligned with your desk’s edges.
Step 7: Final Check
- Make sure all cables are securely fastened, neatly bundled, and routed through your chosen paths.
- Adjust the Velcro straps, cable sleeves, and clips as needed to achieve a clean and tidy look.
Pro Tips:
- Leave Slack: When organizing, leave a little slack in the cables to allow for easy adjustments or height changes if you use a standing desk.
- Label Cables: Use small labels or markers on your cables to identify them easily when you need to plug/unplug devices.
- Keep it Flexible: Since Velcro straps and cable sleeves are reusable and adjustable, feel free to rearrange as you add or remove devices.
Done!
Now, step back and admire your clutter-free, organized workspace. With everything in place, you'll have an efficient, neat, and safe setup that’s easy to maintain. Enjoy your newly transformed desk!
